Ratan Tata has recently invested in a startup which is mainly focused on bringing Senior citizens and youngsters together. The startup is founded by Shantanu Naidu, Ratan Tata's manager. Shantanu is very close to Ratan Tata.

At the launch event Ratan Tata said, “You do not know what it is like to be lonely until you spend time alone wishing for companionship". He also said that no one cares about getting old until the actually get old.
"The bonds between the two generations created by Goodfellows are very meaningful and are helping to address an important social issue In India. I hope the investment helps the young team at Goodfellows grow," Tata said.
Naidu stated that companionship has a different meaning for different set of clients. "To some it may mean watching a movie, narrating stories from the past, going on a walk or quiet company sitting around doing nothing together, and we are here to accommodate it all," he added
Goodfellows has completed a beta phase in Pune over the past six months and is now looking to expand its services in Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru.
The business model of Goodfellows includes Free first month service. From second month the company will charge a fees. The monthly charges will be Rs. 5,000. The company also arranged get-togethers so all the senior citizens can meet each other and with other young graduated.
The young graduates which company hired are selected on the basis of their empathy and affinity towards the senior citizens or elderly people.
Ratan tata has not disclosed the invested amount but he has always supported youngsters in their startups.
Previously Ratan Tata invested in 15 year young boys Generic Medicine startup which became highly successful.
